The Vinton Public Safety Building is a 10,500 square foot facility to house the town’s rescue squad, both volunteers and paid staff. It is attached to the existing Vinton Firehouse. The project includes 4 apparatus bays (3 double-stacked, one single-stacked); individual sleeping rooms, toilets and showers; rescue squad and fire department offices; radio and satellite communications rooms; dayroom, kitchen and dining facilities, and fitness facility (to be shared with adjacent Firehouse); decontamination and shop facilities; rescue training platforms; public entrance lobby to serve fire and rescue as well as adjacent community meeting room. The work also includes new parking; turn-out areas; emergency generator; and related site work.
