Rezone .93 acres of a 6.9 acre tract from R-5 (Residential District) to IN (Institutional District) for the purpose of constructing a drive to serve the new church.   

     
West Creek Manor Apartments - rezoning plan

Project Completion: 2008

The rezoning request was complex since it involved three different zoning districts, Commercial-General District (CG), Residential Multifamily District (RMF) and Residential Single Family (R-5), and six different parcels within the City of Roanoke.  To save expenses, the rezoning requests were combined into one application and only required a single hearing. 

West Creek Manor Apartments were undergoing a complete renovation of the entire complex and the owners were adding four additional handicap accessible apartments.  The HC accessible apartments required additional convenient parking close to the new elevator at the front of the building.  The owners also desired to relocate the parking for the 40 units in Section 5 to the front of the buildings for security purposes.  In addition, portions of the existing parking lots, sidewalks, and the playground were on the adjoining property.  The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of this rezoning and it was unanimously approved by Roanoke City Council in January 2009.

Rezone 1.7 acres from RB (Residential Business) to TBD (Transitional Business District) for the purpose of a building expansion.
